I am looking for explanation:

have two ubuntu 10.10 installations
both have the same update state
both have the same settings in software packet sources
both have canonical and partners selected
both have also
http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clamav/ppa/ubuntu maverick main and main source in the packet sources
both are set to the main server for test

Still the synaptic has different version of clamav in it, one has 0.96.4 and the other has 0.96.5
Even one other installation of 10.04 has the 0.96.5 in the repository.

What is wrong? Why can one installation show different version then the other?

Sounds like a ClamAV repository issue, not ubuntu. Ubuntu 10.10 offers 0.96.3.

wel, yes, I have copied the link somewhere I think, entered in all my ubuntus and was now surprised that I see different versions.
I have only one ppa in each ubuntu, only the one for the clamav
