how to disable update for wicd?

i have wicd 1.6.2,but if i update my system,it will also update my wicd...
when i used wicd 1.7.0(latest),i cannot connect to my wireless...
so,how to disable it from updating wicd to 1.7.0??

I have disabled wicd updates by using Synaptic. Simply open Synaptic, select wicd and then enable "Lock version" in the Package menu at the top of the screen.
