View Full Version : A few final questions before placing my order (graphics cards, again)

after much, much, much, much deliberation I am finally ordering my new graphics card. (Really this time!) Regnum online's added some new, rather intensive graphic features, so I'm going for a 1GB card. This card is probably going to be tormented for the next 7 years, so I'm wanting a nice, inexpensive, powerful and durable card. Anyway, after reported opengl performance problems in the 400 series, I decided to go with either a geforce 9 or 200 series card. My target price range is 50-70$, no qualms about buying used. As for performance details, I'd like to run most games at maximum detail (mostly older ones, plus MMOs) at around 40-50fps. Should a 210 or 220 be good enough, or should I go for a 240 or 9800? Also, I need to be sure, do geforce 9 cards support opengl 3? Wikipedia says yes, nvidia says no.

go with either 240 or 9800.

The minimum you should aim for is a 9600 GT.

do you know if I can use 3 monitors (with a splicer) on those cards?
