Apparently, KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9) is struggling with some health issues.

(http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9)KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9)
As I have been in Hospital for over a week and will be in Hospital for some time yet

* It's possible that I'm just finding out - what others may already know.

Obviously, KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9) is still monitoring the forums (be it) from a hospital. So, lets all take a moment and wish KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9) the very best for a quick recovery. Hopefully, knowing that many care will have a positive effect on the recovery process. As members of this community we should recognize KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9)'s contributions and show our support.

Please take a moment and let KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9) know that this community is worried about one of it's own.

To: KiwiNZ (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=9)
Best Wishes.
Know you are and will remain in our thoughts.

Sincerely
Mac

Wow, had no idea about the whole affair. Shows how dedicated you are. Glad you're doing Okay. I don't know the circumstances of your hospitalization but hope it wasn't too dire.

BTW, to the others, I've never seen KiWinz as some dark overlord, perhaps I've been here too long....I usually see KiWinz as a mediator in the complaint sub-forum.

For those that don't know, & I know that KiwiNZ wouldn't want me to tell you, but I'm going to tell you anyway, because he deserves the recognition.

KiwiNZ (Mike), was helping as a volunteer in the rescue services at the aftermath of the Indonesian Tsunami in 2004/2005 when he got bitten by a powerfully difficult bug to combat.

The bastard of a bug has never let him go.

He has been suffering severely for all of these years BIG time (as in we can't imagine) because of a parasite that would make Delhi belly seem like a Sunday pick-nick.

So there. That is that. All we can do is focus any help we can on him to help him regain his health so that he will be enabled to do what he likes to do best, which is help other people who need it.

And here, I thought it was because he tried to divide by zero. *sigh*KiwiNZ CAN divide by Zero. That's why he's in hospital: Chuck Norris hit him in envy.
Hope he doesn't get upset for this little joke, but he showed such a strong will that I wouldn't be surprised if he actually said "I managed to divide by zero. For real".

Well, seriously, I first heard of your story this summer and all I can do is wish you a speedy recovery. You deserve it, especially for all the good you've made :)

Hopefully, KiwiNZ finds peace and comfort over the holidays - knowing so many send their thoughts and prayers his way for a rapid recovery.

Another example of this communities spirit. Reaching out to help and encourage one of it's own.

To quote from Tennyson:

That which we are, we are:
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate,
Yet strong in will.
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Just read the other thread about the wheel chair... a while back in another thread as another user (been deactivated btw) Kiwi replied that Ubuntu was just an operating system... and by putting it in context with his experiences, and all he has gone through I can now truly see how right he is... and how trivial 99% of the crap online can be (and yes, I am very guilty if indulging in this crap)...

I truly hope all goes well sir, hope you have a speedy recovery so you can get back online and help some of us keep perspective...
