Is it possible to share a desk-top computer's keyboard and mouse with an Android phone over Bluetooth, USB, or Wi-fi? Ideally I'd like to do it without a special phone app since it appears phones already support Bluetooth keyboards.

www.gmote.org offers a remote control app... otherwise you are looking at a port of synergy?
all from a quick google search :)

A Synergy port would be ideal.

There are various VNC server apps available in the Android Market, but they require a rooted device. Pop open that app when you're at home and you can click or type anywhere you need to, on your phone, from the comfort of your computer! I use droid VNC server (http://www.appbrain.com/app/droid-vnc-server/org.onaips.vnc) and have been extremely pleased with it.

Droid VNC Server looks ideal, but doesn't work with my device.
The androidscreencast.jnlp app does work-- albeit slowly.
All solutions seem to suffer from key mapping problems with any non-letter, non-digit keys.

If you are still looking, http://www.remotedroid.net/ seems promising
I also use https://market.android.com/details?id=com.owtroid.remotelauncher&hl=en
to launch apps

I was looking for controlling the *phone* using the computer. Not the other way around.

Has anyone of you tried PC Loves Droid? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5598DiB8FNk
I'm thinking of purchasing it on Google Play since it's the only one so far that can share keyboard mouse and clipboard. Though it doesn't have Synergy's feature of seamlessly trasnferring control when you go over the edge of the screen.
