When entering http://www.ubuntu.org in the addressbar I got this

My ISP redirects me to http://www.ubuntu.upc.edu/

Which looks like a World Forum of Civil Society Networks. Didn't Ubuntu.org to to the same server as ubuntu.com?

I do remember ubuntulinux.org redirects to ubuntu.com.

That's what I recall too. I don't remember ubuntu.org ever redirecting to ubuntu.com

There are other uses of the word Ubuntu than the one we are familiar with. There is even a soft drink called Ubuntu. I guess that ubuntu is a common word in a certain African language.
