Today I clicked on System > About Ubuntu. This is the message I got.

You are using Ubuntu 11.04 - the Natty Narwhal - released in April 2011 and supported until October 2012.

Hmmm, I don't think I have time machine just yet. What is up with that ? I installed only 10.10 Final, then updated to 10.10.1 LOL

But cat /etc/issue version output is 10.10

Any one has the same issue ?

There is no 10.10.1 version. Instead you updated to 11.04.

The .1, .2, etc only are used for the LTS versions of which 10.04 is the current one.

Hey Sef, sorry I meant to say I updated not upgrade to alpha. So I did not upgrade. You right, those are just for LTS versions.

@ eriktheblu, What are you talking about ? More info would be better, then just suggesting to remove packages.

It was a little confusing I helped somebody on the IRC get there 10.10 back working then it said Natty somewhere, but in the systems monitor-system tab it said Maverick and they have the Maverick kernels.

Does he really not get the joke? I think it was possibly the funniest forum joke I have seen in a long time.

Sometimes jokes are not apparent when you can't see someone's face or hear their tone of voice.

Smilies help with that.

I noticed this too when helping a friend adjust to Ubuntu. It turned out that both of us were stuck in the future :o
