panel items

is there a way to have all the itmes/icons/applets on the panel/notification area/indicator applet spaced evenly? i mean, on my screenshot you can see how the notificationarea icons are close together compared to the indicatorapplet ones....

I don't know how to do that but as far as i know the indicator applet icons are having space between them by default.
