Hi,

I was asked to post my problem here by elise025.

Here's all the info: (the last page being the most relevant)

http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/290240-blue-screen/page__st__60

Btw when I started to install it I didn't select 'delete windows and install this ontop' because I was told not to. I can't find the recovery disc/windows disc so don't mind if that's all wiped out but please let me know how to do this.

Thanks in advance!

Btw how do I get my desktop (once it's fully installed with ubuntu) to look like a MacBook? I know there's a way but can't find the step-by-step instructions.

I made some notes regarding the new live installer:

The problem is that if i take the disc out or leave it in it doesnt matter. the screen still shows ubunutu and i cannot seem to go back to the stage where you can select the option to delete windows and install this. the isntructions are useful but only if i can restart the whole process - thats what i cannot seem to do.

What do i do now?

Plus I have a bug (which i typed out below) thats not accounted for in the notes. what do i do about the note that comes up on my screen?

Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
A bug in the libxklavier library
A bug in X server (xkbcomp,xmodmap utilities)
X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

X server version data:
The X.org Foundation
10900000

If you report this situation as a bug, please include
The result of xprop-root grep XKB
The result of gconftool-2-R/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd

I found this (http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-342932.html) but i dont understand the solution because im new to the Linux world!
