Hi all
This is a project, But I do need ideas & options.

I had 8.04, "/" & /home partitions, nicely decked out & absolutely loved it.
I installed 10.04 on my g/f pc via Wubi & I love it too. So, I decided to upgrade my pc to 10.04.... Well, It's just not the same. It doesn't work on my pc. If I add anything fancy AT ALL, it freezes.

She has half the RAM, a slower processor, & the same video card, although her pc is 64 bit & mine is 32.

I'm considering several diff things, like saving all my files(easily done) and reformatting /home to ext4 & wiping it out for a fresh start.... Or can I try a wubi install the way it is, just to see if it makes a diff, even though I have Grub as my boot-loader. And plan to keep it that way.

This is like going from windows7 to windows98.
So, I'm open for any and all suggestions.

Have you tried disabling Compiz?

Here is a link that might help:

Yes, that's the only way I could get it to stop freezing...no joy!!!

However I was able to get it corrected, by following the steps in post #22 of this thread...

Thank you for responding Rubi1200. I thought this thread had fallen by the wayside. I'll mark it solved & maybe others will be able to find this info easier than I did.
