Cant install ubuntu 10.04

Hey i was recently trying to install ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop and it wont let me. I have it booting from a usb. I have everything set up right but before it installs it tells me that a kernel image is not working or something along those lines. what could be my problem?

you answered your own question.. your usb image appears to be bad/ but this could also be due to read/from usb issues.

I've used to different usbs i used an old one and bought a new one

As you boot from the Live usb hit the Esc key. This should bring up a screen with some options. Select the one for checking the cd for errors (I think it should still work for usb).
