View Full Version : [ubuntu] attempting to install virtualbox, please help

I have been attempting to install virtualbox on my ubuntu system, however when i do so i get an error regarding synaptics-dkms, i am less than a week into using this linux OS so please bear with me, what is this error? the listed terminal is as follows.
Setting up synaptics-dkms (1.0.0) ...
Loading new synaptics-1.0.0 DKMS files...

Error! Cannot locate /usr/src/synaptics-1.0.0.dkms.tar.gz.
File does not exist.
dpkg: error processing synaptics-dkms (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Setting up libqtcore4 (4:4.6.2-0ubuntu5.1) ...

Setting up libqt-network (4:4.6.2-0ubuntu5.1) ...

How are you installing virtualbox?
Here is a very easy to follow tutorial on installing virtualbox in Ubuntu that may help:
