Hello,
I'm thinking a bit about getting a new laptop, and the Thinkpad L412 seems rather interesting. I'm not quite sure whether I want Ubuntu or Arch Linux on it, but I do think I woulod go for the E17 Desktop environment (since it looks pretty good and seems to be low on resources). Does anybody have any thoughts on this combination? I am a complete standard user who just wants to do office bits, surf, watch movies, videochat every once in a while, edit some pictures and occasionally master audio files.

Enlightenment is fantastic. If you want to go down the Ubuntu route Bodhi (http://bodhilinux.com/) is a pretty good Ubuntu based spin using Enlightenment as it's default desktop. or you could always compile from source (http://jeffhoogland.blogspot.com/2010/05/howto-install-e17-from-svnsource-on.html).

Anyone know if E17 is available for Ubuntu 11.04 that doesn't require compiling yourself?
