Hello Ubuntu'ers,
I am trying to build a "headless" file server and I have run into a couple of issues me and google can't seem to sovle.
My Setup:
I have a Laptop and a PC, both with Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop Edition
I am trying to use the default software that came with 10.10 to both Share and View my PC's desktop.
My Problem:
My PC keeps going IDLE and then I am unable to access it through the Remote Desktop viewer.
While the PC is inactivle I am also unable to SSH into it.
I have to "wiggle" the PC's mouse before I can do anything with it.
After "wiggling" the mouse I am able to unlock the desktops screen lock through the Remote Desktop Viewer.
My Steps to Solve the problem:
Changed the settings in "System>Preferences>Power Management" to never put the computer a sleep when its inactive
Changed the settings in "System>Preferences>Screensaver" Regard Computer as idle when inactive for 2 hours
Asked Google (Ofcourse)
But still the PC goes idle and inactive.
My Cry for Help:
Please help me prevent the PC going inactive.
