Both Flash and Java aren't working in firefox. I have a problem with somthig else(see my other post"gnome or something.."). Neither is staring. It used to work. Fire fox tries to install flash but says it's allready installed.

In your other post, do yo mean you can't see the gnome panels?
Regarding flash, I would suggest to try flash-aid add-on (courtesy of forum member loving-linux).
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161939/
It would remove the conflicting plug-ins and install the appropriate one's.
Regarding java, go to your browsers address bar and type,
about:plugins
And tell us which java plugin is installed?

THere is no java installed apparently. Strange....... How do I get it? Ubuntu restricted files are already installed.

Search for 'icedtea java plugin' in Software Center. Is it installed already?

Try purging and re-installing that.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you can consider installing the Sun Java proprietary package instead.

Remove openjdk and icedtea prior to installing that.
