View Full Version : [ubuntu] Alfa No picking up wireless

December 11th, 2010, 01:29 AM
So I found out my wireless card was not supported so I bought Alfa AWUS036nh.
It is recognized by system as wlan1. It shows drivers are there.

When I click on the network manager, it says:

wired network
wireless networks

and I cannot connect by manually adding the connection. I have tried an open connection, DHCP, static you name it.

EDIT: Running Luci Lynx

Please Help!

I've tried it all. At first I had my regularly installed Realtek 8192se_pci card which is no longer compatible apparently. So I ordered the external Alfa card and though it is recognized right away, It does not find wireless networks in network manager.

I tried creating the connection manually with the proper ip & network settings(I am networking student.). I am still having trouble.

iwconfig shows card is there with drivers.
says ESSID: None/Any....
