I actually have 2 wallpapers depending on the ambient light (automatically switches). So I'll post both of them

The one set for low ambient light with dimmed screen (Simone Simons from epica):

The one set for high ambient light with bright screen (simply great wallpaper):

Thanks Daniel, I'm glad you like it...

Here are more with different color themes for different tastes.

I wonder who downloaded what and who is using what as wall paper...

Remember those and the previous are GPL... or similar I took them and they can be used as you wish.

I hope you like the new ones.

That's Docky (apt:docky).

I don't make my own wallpapers because I' not good enough with graphics software. I get all of mine from here: http://www.beautifulfractals.com/. I downloaded most of the wallpapers from that website and set them to switch randomly every 15 seconds :).

Sure, here they are:

The file is 39Mb, too big to upload here, so I used another site.
BTW, most images(if not all) are 1280x800, the size of my screen, I had to resize them because of some problems I was having with the auto-resizing, some images were getting too blurry.

Also, if you have some images like those, would you mind sharing them?

Do you see the little "paper clip"? next to (the right) of the white smiley face?

Just click that,
a new window will open,
in that window, youll see places to "browse" for images on your computer.
Just find your image, click ok, then click "upload",

hmm, I'm not sure,
Ive never seen that message before..

Are you a member of any sites like Flickr, or photobucket,
or imageshack [yuck], or anything like that?

If so, you can just upload it to your account there,
then simply right click the image,
then click "copy image URL" ,
then, in a new post here at ubuntu forum,

Youll see the little icon that looks like a mountain
>http://ubuntuforums.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=169411&stc=1&d=1284429005
[bottom right]

click that icon
, paste the URL of your image in,
and it will appear in your post.

If you dont have one of those accounts,
You can either ask a mod what's up,
or if you like/rather,
I will just take screenshots of the process I first described for you so you can see what to do at each 'step'.

Either way is cool with me. lol

Hi Ichido~

dang mate, Im really not sure what is going on at your end then.

Everyone who has given instruction on how to do it~ is spot on,
and all the same as i put in the video,
I just thought the video would be easier to follow...

But something has to be awry on your end...

have you PM'd a moderator/admin?

I remember when i used to be on windows...
I would often get error messages (or nothing at all) when trying to upload photos to vbulletin forums, but never on Ubuntu.

Im sorry mate, I thought we would have ya figured out by now. :( lol

But your last attempt on the previous page seems to have worked ok, no?

ahh, ok, So you did get it working..
just not for SVG's...
I see..

any chance the SVG's youre trying to upload are larger than 976.6 KB?
If so, they wont upload... too large.

maybe just switch them to jpg's or png's.

The file sizes are within limits.
I use Inkscape 0.48, which uses SVGs.
Sometimes when I try to link to my URL Picture's site, it doesn't work?
How do you get the BOX surrounding the thumbnails?

No problem man.

Box around the thumbnails..
you mean like this?.......v

That is even easier than inserting your pics, as I showed in the video..

All you do, is simply upload your picture(s)
[using the "paperclip" again]..
and once your files have finished uploading,...
You simply just close the "upload box/window"..
and hit "submit reply".

Then your images will be as mine below is.

I have watched your video many times but it doesn't help.
My images are Not shown as yours are.
My Links do not always work.
What does " ......v" do?
I cannot get the "thumbnail" Box.

forgive my ignorance and thanks for your help.

No problem.

I know, I wasn't suggesting you watch the video again.

Sorry, the ".....v" was just my way of making an "arrow" that pointed downwards. [my apologies, i knew i was a bad idea] lol

You have to do nothing 'special' to get your photos in the "thumbnail box".

You simply upload them, and submit your reply.
that is it.

Im really not sure how to make it any more clear than this.

1. Reply to a post [reply]
2. upload your pictures [manage attachments]
3. when pictures have finished uploading, Submit your reply.
[submit reply]
4. that's it.
5. pictures will be at the bottom of your post.

You do not have to do anything, other than upload your photos, and submit your reply. Nothing else.

Daniel~
Yes, the site does allow and display .SVG files.

Hello,

Since i'm new to linux, i was wondering if i could ask you the name of the app that provides the toolbar at the bottom of your screen, and how to install it.

Many thanks

I use this, I have an animated version too where the globe is spinning. I made it so it goes with the ghost theme for kde. Still some minor adjustments to be made but it's ok for now. Anon was stolen/borrowed from another picture, the rest I did.

Hey Daniel,

Thank you. :)

It's not quite a "style for GNOME"...

all it is,
Is AWN dock with Lucido style applied.
Top panel hidden, bottom panel removed and replaced with AWN.
Then modified/themed by me.

Link to get AWN w/Lucido

The GTK Theme is called Dichotomy~
acquired here~ https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Incoming/Lucid/Dichotomy
glad you like it. <3
