This really belongs here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1562130&page=6) and yes, it is a desirable looking thing.

Hi TheGizmo,

Great stuff! Keep it coming :)

I also have to respectfully disagree with the above post from labinnsw. Since this is in fact the Zimbabwe Forum, I see no problem with posting such here, and please continue to do so. Although of course, you're encouraged to post in other places as well.

I would also suggest that you upload contributions to www.gnome-look.org (the original hi-res images) and maybe post links here in the forum?

Thanks for the great contribution and I really look forward to seeing more of your work - this is what Ubuntu needs in Zim!!

Guess I did it again. It is not the first time that I failed to notice that there is more than one Ubuntu forum. I suspect it won't be the last time either. I just can't seem to remember.

Thanks very much! Pity about upload speeds on gnome-look.org - perhaps we can convince the Web team for the local Zim site to work on putting something in place there so that uploads can be done to www.ubuntu.org.zw. However, since the site storage and bandwidth are donated/sponsored, I'm not sure if this will be practically possible.

Nice wallpaper TheGizmo, and glad to see someone beat me to it!!! I have put in some that I've come up with use it, don't use it. I am busy uploading the origional 1600 x 900px version to flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/57075039@N02/?saved=1).

I think the t-shirts etc would be a good idea, not sure if the loco team has any plans of doing any merchandising in the future but good to see we have some fresh new eye's on the Zimbabwe Ubuntu forum.

Thanks TheGizmo, I've been experimenting with Blender which is an open source 3d modeling application. After watching the short film Sintel made by the Blender foundation I though it was about time i spent some time on learning (following tutorials to a certain degree) Blender as it has always interested me. You can find it in the repository and there are some great tutorials on wikipedia to get you started. I have found that doesn't matter how detailed or not your model is it's the lighting that makes or break it, i have used the safest option of global lighting on most of images. It is very resource hungry so don't attempt it on a lesser speck machine as you would probably have a not so hot experience.

My next goal is to get my 3d model of tux rigged up with bones so I can animate the little guy and do some video's/custom images.
