Hi all,

I already tried to look this up in the hardware (in)compatibility list, but I'm not quite sure. I am planning on buying this computer:

HP DC7700 CMT Core™2 Duo E6300 1,86Ghz, 2GB, 160GB DVD
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Processor (1.86-GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 1066-MHz FSB)
Chipset: Intel 965Q Express
Ram: 2-GB DDR2 Synch Dram PC2-5300 (667-MHz) Non ECC
Storage: 160-GB SATA 3.0-Gb/s Hard Drive (8MB Cache, 7200 rpm)
Optical: SATA CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo

Video card: Maximum Vertical Refresh Rate: 85 Hz at up to 1920x1440, 85Hz at 2048x1536 (probably an Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000)
Max video memory: 256MB
Intel 82566DM Gigabit Network Connection (integrated on system board)

I gather the processor is supported by ubuntu, the graphics card too (but that will be replaced), but I'm not sure about the rest...
Could someone please give me some advice?
Cheers!

For compatibility most people seem to run into issues with video, wireless and sound (and USB devices that may have no support at all). This machine looks fine. You have Intel everything but I don't see sound listed. Performance aside, Intel hardware is very well supported. I have both nVidia and Intel video graphics on different machines, as well as ATi on another one, and I have no compatibility issues once the drivers are installed.

Okay, thanks for your reply!
If I buy it I will add my experiences with it to the list. ;)
