I find myself wanting to slice a window, much like one can easily do in many spreadsheet utilities: show, for example, the top one hundred pixels, and the bottom five hundred, omitting what's in between.
I realize this is probably an incredibly arcane problem, and I am not asking for people to solve it for me (although if someone is moved to, I won't complain!) but if anyone has any idea whether or not this is possible, or where I should start looking, I would appreciate it.
