Hey guys - is it possible to install Ubuntu Server and have user accounts and log into the server via a Windows XP machine? Sorry if its a stupid question! Many thanks

When you say log in from windows machines, exactly what are you wanting to do ??

If you just want to store files on the Ubuntu box, then server will work just fine.

If you want to log in and do things from a command line, server still works.

If you want a GUI, use the desktop version and install whatever servers you need separately.

You'll probably have more questions once the above is answered. The community is here for you.

Install Cygwin on Windows, then log in using ssh same as from a Linux machine.
