Hi
I have anoying troubles with the sound driver.
It was all working fine untill my motherboard broke and I got a replacement. It the same motherboard model.

Now from Linux sound doesn't work anymore

"GStreamer error: state change failed and some element failed to post a proper error message with the reason for the failure."

interestingly I have vitual box installed and windows running in the box. Windows XP can still play sound.

I had a similar error with the network driver, since the new motherboard has a new network chip my ethernet was configured as eth1 not eth0 and some programs that tried to access eth0 did not work. removing any reference to eth0 and configuring the new adapter as eth0 solved these issues. Maybe there is a similar fix for sound?
Cheers
M.
