This may be a basic problem, but I am simply new to this OS.
Unable to boot 10.10 from external device for full reformat on laptop from windows.
Currently I am running vista and I created an install ubuntu on my ipod, and I reformatted (the ipod) it to the correct format using easy creator provided on the site. When I change my Bios to run the drive it fails to open the cd. Instead it provides a short sentence in an unknown language and translates into odd characters displayed in gray, and if i press anything it simply repeats the language until I use windows to reboot.

I have a dell with the following specs
Pentium dual core t4200 3gb of ram
graphics card: mobile intel4 series express chipset family

This may be a basic problem, but I am simply new to this OS. I would like to install, and I would appreciate anyone who can help me.

Please give me an idea of what to do. I have read through most of the 10.10 grub errors and common 10.10 install errors, and I am still confused.
