I run kubuntu 10.10 (KDE 4.5.1) on a laptop which is sometimes connected to a docking station with external monitor. The laptop screen is 1440x900 and the external monitor is 1280x1024. When docked, the panel is on the external monitor. I have set the panel settings to "Maximize" (Cashew on panel -> More Settings -> Maximize Panel). However, every time I change from "docked" to "undocked" state the panel is only 1280 pixels wide, and I have to manually maximize it to 1440 pixels wide.

This used to work perfectly in Kubuntu 10.04 (KDE 4.4.x) but got broken in the update to Maverick. Any ideas? I tried googling and searching the forums but am none the wiser.
