Despite looking I can't find how to do this:

I want to widen the frame that I grab when resizing a window. On a high-res screen, frames are so slim it is hard to grab them without having to concentrate hard. A few more pixels would make it much easier. I'm sure it is very simple to do in Gnome, can anyone enlighten me?

You can either use the tip in bvc's post

or

use a different window border. eg...Polaris (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Polaris?content=93896)

or

Use mouse middle click + Alt to resize.

middle-click doesn't do anything for me. So I'd have to, Alt + right-click > Resize

I've made a few very thin border window themes but never used them. They're only good for a screenshot with a transparent terminal window. They serve no other purpose. If you look at these

http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Clear-Alternative?content=58265
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/nm156?content=58230

in an app window, other than a transparent terminal, you can't tell the difference. Yet, some are thin and some are wide.
