I run a tight copy of Maverick on an acear aspire one d250, and it works beautifully, So after that, I felt I could be an ubuntu activist lol so I installed maverick in at least 3 of my friends pc's and everything went well until a gateway d210 got in my way. No matter what setting I use inside compiz it just crashes and displays an error "Could not enable desktop effects". I think it might have something to do with its graphics card... Any suggestions? It's a 5-8 year old laptop from iraq. I think I read something about xgl or ati drivers needing to be upgraded. I can't show this to my friend, It would be a bad first impresion to a new ubunt'er...
