I am using Mint 10 in a Virtual machine, clicked on the install VMware tools button & 2 folders show up: 1.]manifest.txt 2.] VMwareTools 8.1.3- 203739. tar.gz
on the bottom taskbar this advice is given: Launch a [just any?] Terminal, and use tar to uncompress the Installer. Then, execute VMWARE-install.pl
Question? Why doesn't it install itself? What terminal? and where does Tar hang out? I would be grateful for any advice.
I do not have the CD as I bought VM Ware online and downloaded it.
