i am currently running 9.10 and was thinking of upgrading to 10.10. i was going to initally install 10.10 but i saw that it ran fluendo. does that mean the ubuntu restricted extras aren't in the future versions? i was also wondering if i would have to reinstall all my old programs.

Upgrading by 2 versions can create problems. It could be preferrable to do a fresh install of 10.10 You would need to re-install all of your installed programs (see link)
As far as I'm aware Ubuntu restricted extras aren't included in any installation. They can be installed using Synaptic later.

gotcha. i just figured after seeing that 10.10 ran fluendo, that maybe the restricted packages were'nt included anymore. i thought ubuntu might have gone the way of fedora.
