Yes, it's mean, but I had to laugh. It's like when you see a guy get hit in the nuts...

I'm glad the Ubuntu community is not like that, and I don't really think it's funny. The guy lost all of his data, could've been something important on his harddisk.

If only the Ubuntu community were like that. Everything would be much more fun. All the users, old and new would laugh together as everything on their hard drive got deleted.

See, they know how to have fun.

As a newbie I really have to say I don't find that funny at all. Did those guys ever think how they would react if they needed help in a situation that has nothing to do with computers like fishing or I don't know, anything else? If somebody would tell them "you just go and jump in the water and catch the fish with your mouth, this is what we all do" what would you say about that person? This "linux experts" just suck. I prefer to stay with human beeings.

i agree. on one hand you have people say "use gentoo, use arch you'll learn a lot more about linux than newbie distros like ubuntu and mandrake". So some people say, fine, i'll do it. With help and grit, get it installed. Then have questions, and go for help, and people like these 25 year old kids still living in their mother's basements get off on wrecking their computers. I do hope it's fake and glad that people here aren't like that.
