I have searched the web and this forum and I seem to be the only person with this problem. When I open the software center and click on for puchase I see nothing listed there. Do any of you have any ideas as to why and how I can fix it?

I am using Ubuntu 10.10 upgraded from 10.04. O yes I am also using it at work behind a proxy server

It sounds like there's an error in your software sources. It might be as simple as checking a box in
System->Administration->Software Sources

Otherwise perhaps someone could provide you with a correct /etc/apt/soures.list file (I don't run Maverick myself, unfortunately).

I don't even have a "for purchase" section at all and I can't find anything in software sources to turn it on. I'm running 10.04 LTS. Is there a minimum version of Ubuntu required to get the for purchase stuff? I stick with the LTS versions.

Yes, I believe software purchases were introduced in 10.10 actually.

Thanks for the info. I would have thought it would have been added for Lucid in an update, but maybe it's more complicated than that. :-k
