I am attempting to install Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Alternate on my "netbook". Due to its' lack of a CD drive I followed the same route of action I did to get the non-alternate version on to a USB flash drive (downloaded the Universal USB Installer from http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ and followed through with that), however there is a point in the installation process where it requires a CD drive to continue and due to the fact that I am using a flash drive I have become stuck. I'm not sure if there is an alternate way to use the Alternate image or if there is some sort of way to work around the issue. I'm assuming there must be a way to either get a version that doesn't include the cd-drive dependency and I just haven't found it OR that there is a way to have the flash drive be forced to be seen as the proper drive for the information.
