Hi upgraded from 10.4 to 10.10, have generic PC with 2 x GeForce 210, connected to 3 LG monitors.

Xorg.conf worked on and off in 10.4, so was hoping upgrade to 10.10 might be more reliable (oops!) Since 10.10, can't get the 2nd card to appear in nvidia-settings. Right now it only seems to recognize the card & 2 monitors on PCI:1:0:0

lshw -C video shows:

Having the same issue.

The only difference for me, is that sometimes it DOES show up in nvidia-settings, and other times it doesn't.

Is this possibily a grub/bios issue?

I really can't for the life of me figure out how it will work sometimes on boot, and other times it completely ignores the 2nd card.

I have SLI running on mine.

The crappy thing was I had all 3 displays working in 10.04 (but every now and then it'd boot and nvidia-settings only detected the 1st GPU).

It seems to me if I can have it work sometimes, I should be able to get it to work ALL the time.

In 10.04 it detected the 2nd GPU about 90% of the time... with 10.10 I'm about 1 time out of every 20 boots it will pick up the 2nd GPU... but then dump it on next reboot.

Granted - I'm using GeForce9600 which aren't exactly supported 100%, but I was able to get it to work every now and then.

Anyone have any info on this issue?

Same issue. Trying to get the 2nd monitor to just come on.

NVidia X Server Settings (X Server Display Configuration) shows both monitors and correctly identifies the 2nd monitor as a Dell 1905FP at 1280x1024 but I can never get that monitor to display anything. Just continually shows the monitor being in standby mode. The secondary monitor is utilising a DVI to VGA converter in order to hook up the monitor to the 2nd port on the video card.

Not sure what's going on, but my xorg.conf looks a little out of wack. I'm still a noob with Linux so I'm not sure how to fix it, but I do see that something isn't right.

The xorg.conf isn't showing the settings for 'monitor1' but when I add information into this file, nothing happens. So either I'm not doing it right or it's just not working.

Even adding the information for Monitor1 doesn't do anything different...
