copy apps from one install to another

HI this probably can't be done but if you have two distros on one computer can you copy install programs from one install to the other to save me downloading the games again they are quite large on my **** weak download limit. One distro is ubuntu 10.04 and the other is mint 9 so ther is compatability between the two

You can try to find your games in /var/cache/apt/archives .Copy them from there and put them in another machine and install again.
