Russia & Qatar will host the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. In 2022 I will be 78 if I live that long. After that I'll be too senile to be bothered.

As someone who likes football at least as much as computers I have to say I'm gutted. If we get the world cup in 2030 I'll be 67! I hope my kids will take me to games for days out!!

I was hoping to see some of the games at Anfield if England got it. Never mind. :(

I wouldn't worry too much about it, apparently the world is supposed to end in 2012.

I've never really followed World Cup, but I bet if it were in the US it'd get more people interested in it around here.

Most teams wont get a visa because of the insane USCIS laws, and it would end up with just US and Canada teams.

Football-lovers, I feel sorry for you and apologise for my schadenfreude. I hope you enjoy the cricket and the rugby. :)

However, I am very glad for myself and my husband that we don't have to live through it.

2022 ....massive 3D TVs in every room ... better than crowded stadia (is that the plural? I don't follow the "quite nice game")

Not sure about that, the USA has hosted the world cup before. Once in 1994 and twice more for the FIFA Women's World Cup in 1999 and 2003.

I wonder how popular 'soccer' is nowadays since David Beckham joined LA Galaxy?
