View Full Version : [ubuntu] how would i upgrade from version 9.04 to the current?

hi i have a live cd i had sent to my address a while back
but now i am outdated and would like to upgrade to the current version.
is there any commands i can run to upgrade?
or will i need to order another live cd

It is a long and risky path to upgrade all the way to 10.10, and you don't know in advance how well your machine likes this release.
Best is to burn a CD or create a USB stick with an ISO downloaded from
http://www.releases.ubuntu.com/
and do a fresh install, if the live boot works well.

What would you recommend as the next stable upgrade?

10.04 was stable, 10.10 has been a nightmare for me.
No matter how many times I tell myself never upgrade to the beta releases I still occasionally and always regret it.
