Just a thought, maybe we should start planning now for the 11.04 release.
Anyone agree?

I've got the daily build installed and am testing it. I agree, planning for 11.04 release party would be nice. Any suggestions?

We can do it at my house, but I'm afraid we might run out of parking.
What is the normal procedure for a release party? I've been in the Linux game for a while, and never done/been to a release party.
EDIT:
And seating...

Where does everyone live? I used to have a Ubuntu group at KU, but it's long defunct.

Is it possible to meet on-line via Skype or Ekiga? I'd be happy to have a virtual Ubuntu release party of sorts.
I'm in Osborne, KS. Wweeks, may I invite you to join NCKLUG? We'd enjoy having you as a member.

An online meeting sounds more workable than any of the options thrown out so far.
@drbeams where does that group meet?

I agree, the idea of a virtual release party sounds awesome. Feel free to add me on skype, my screen name on there is the same as the one on here

i installed 11.04 today, in one of my powerfull machines (AMD Phenom 64 quad), but, the performance in 64 bits is so poor.... too heavy, too mucho disk access, i am not happy. i preferr the previus 10.04 release, more faster, more powerfull.
my machine has 8 gb dd3 memory.
i wait some day for patches fixing this performance problem, if not fixed, i will be returning to 10.04.

I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 on both my PCs and had a problem with permissions on a few folders that I'd moved to my second hard drive. When I attempted to move them back to the main HD I discovered that they'd been switched to Root (with the little padlock). I couldn't do anything with them as the permissions had been locked.
I've solved the problem and I thought that maybe other people had the same problem so here's the web page that has all the info on it.:>>>>>>>

Cheers to all and good luck with the new disto.

11.04 runs great on my Toshiba Satellite L500. :) 64bit Ubuntu goodness with 4GB RAM and a dual core Core i3 Intel processor @2.13Ghz.
