Hi.

Made a huge error installing ubuntu 10.10, it started installing to my 1tb drive instead of my 500gb drive. As soon as i noticed I pulled the plug and installed on the 500gb drive. I Now I can't get to the data on my 1tb drive. All my music, photos, uni work, everything is on there. Can anyone help? I need walking through this one if poss.

Please if you can help I would be most grateful.

anthony.

Thanks but those tools are a tar.bz which in 4 years of being a linux user I have never managed to unpack one and also ubuntu rescue 10.10 has no instructions.

Can anyone walk me through what I need to do if I use the ubuntu rescue remix disk?

please?

Anthony.

You can do it all from Ubuntu, but if it is all of your 1TB drive you have size issues as it will take forever and have to write all that data to another drive. Your 500GB will not be big enough.

enable the "universe" repository to download testdisk
