Has anyone set up F-spot or Shotwell to store it's DB and Photos in a folder(s) that is synced with dropbox or ubuntuone? I'm interested in setting something up where I can sync the photo library between my laptop, desktop, and my wife's laptop, as well as off-site in the cloud for off site redundancy.

My thought is to symlink the .shotwell or .f-spot config folders, and the Photos directory to folders in a ubuntuone or dropbox share. The only thing to watch out for is having the simultaneous or near simultaneous changes done by 2 machines, but I think we can avoid that. Am I missing any possible caveats?

Thanks!

I'm here for the same solution as the one looked for by tube013.

If a post is older than a year or so and hasn't had a new reply in that time, instead of replying to it, create a new thread. In the software world, a lot can change in a very short time, and doing things this way makes it more likely that you will find the best information. You may link to the original discussion in the new thread if you think it may be helpful.
