So really, I have no idea what I'm looking for.

I thought I had read once that you could free windows from a Qemu environment and run them as if they were running from the host OS. Similar to that of wine, where there is only the window, but it's still operating in the Ubuntu environment. Essentially, I want to use Qemu as a full backend for Windows applications in Ubuntu, whilst maintaining it as an Ubuntu window. More or less: run Windows OS as a daemon. I'm not concerned really with hogged resources from running two OSs or having to wait for startup time.
