Am new to this OS. How difficult is it to learn from ground up?

Well, I suppose it rather depends on your background and your willingness.

I would suggest to check out the second sticky note at the beginning of this forum. There is a list there that will answer most if not all of your questions. Welcome to the forums.

Hi and welcome to Ubuntu.
Your question is very vague. Can you elaborate a little more?
The answer may vary from a couple of days to a lifetime depending on what you mean.

It is no more or less difficult then any other OS.

Most people who use windows can use Ubuntu equally with equal ease, it is typically more an issue of familiarity then ease.

Meh... it's kind of persnikety if you go poking around at files and such when you aren't 100% sure what you're doing.
It's easy to mangle stuff up.
You can run into a lot of weird issues.

Other than that, it's just something different to get used to.

How difficult? It's been 25 years of using Unix and I'm still learning, but it isn't difficult.
