View Full Version : Hard Disk error on HP Compaq Mini 735ED

November 29th, 2010, 04:33 PM
I just did a fresh install of Ubuntu Netbook (Release 10.10 Maverick) on my HP Compaq Mini 735ED.
When I am finished booting I get this gdu-notification-daemon:

A hard disk may be failing.
One or more hard disks report health problems.
Click the icon to get more information.

In the top "toolbar" there is a warning sign with a HDD, which says when clicked on:
80GB Hard Disk - ATA Toshiba MK8025GAL
If Iḿ only selecting the icon it says: One or more disks are failing.

Is there any way to fix my HDD?
I know there's chkdsk in Windows
There's no important data on it, itś all backed up and the HDD is formatted with the new installation.
