What a load of crap! Lazy people! If they were really geeky, they would have a team of real people taking turns actually reading the code. Voice synthesis just shows a lack of commitment. They don't really care. :)

That's awesome! I just wish they would've used a true open format for broadcasting instead of Flash.

Listening to it now with headphones and it actually is somewhat soothing.

I like the idea of a room of guys sitting there in /. t-shirts, coke and choc on the desks ready to take a "in-coming" web page request :)

It was all going so well, followed the link to white noise FM and tried the other flavours too, and then...

clicked the link to vuvuzela FM. Big Mistake.

That's crazy! LOL! Strangely, I like it though. A better synthesizer would be nice though...
Would help from the VoxForge project help in this area?

What self-respecting geek would read code when he could write a program to read it for him?

I really want you to be wrong, but I can't think of any good reason that you're not right about that. :)

LOL. I had to bookmark that one for my son, he's both a linux geek and a big bang fan.

But seriously, if they wanted to be really geeky they'd have taken a page from Neal Stephenson's book the Cryptonoicom and created a program that made the LED lights on your computer dot and dash it out in Morse code. :D
