hey guys,

im looking at turning my old laptop into a headless server, for simple file hosting, and ssh so i can manage it nothing fancy.

problem i have though, is the display is busted, screen only turns on once in a blue moon, dvi and vga only output a signal after its booted up and i have nvidia drivers installed, so no chance of a display at install, although everything else works fine

i can do an unatended install with windows using an answer file, but i have no idea how to go about this with ubuntu, if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be muchly appriciated.

my other idea was to put the hdd in another computer for the purposes of installing, but im not sure if the hardware differences would cause problems, single core ath 64, vs core 2 duo :s

so yea, pretty much any advice, or a third option, would be greatly appricated

ps sorry for any bad spelling, grammer, rambling
