I am currently running ubuntu 10.04 on my desktop, and i'm working on upgrading to 10.10. I want 10.10 to be a clean install, however, so i need to completely remove my current ubuntu, but leave my partition in tact.

I just finished downloading the 10.10 .iso, and i'm burning the CD. once it's done, what is the best way to remove ubuntu? Do i need to remove the partition and then re-partition? Is there a good way to remove 10.04 and at the same time set it up for a clean 10.10?

Thanks

When the installer gets to the partitioning screen, you can manually designate to use the current partition where 10.04 is. Mark the partition to be formatted. If you have a separate /home partition mark it again as /home but do not format.
