Hello,

Can someone please help me with a wireless lan setup. I've installed Ubuntu 10.10 three times already and then loaded the wireless lan drivers with ndiswrapper. Usually the OS freezes and I have to reboot, but now it seems like the OS is stable.

when I do ifconfig via the CLI wlan0 shows up, but when I go to the network tools nothing shows up under the wireless tab???

Thanks,
Eric

for anyone interested... Mint 10 did the trick. No problems whatsoever, wireless works right from the initial install, and WPA2 encryption works great too.

I like the Ubuntu interface better, but oh well... gotta go with what works.

Laptop: Fujistu Seimens Amilo M series
WLAN card: Intel Pro 2200

Cheers,
E.
