nautilus right click in tree pane to delete

Hi all, apologies if this already exists - did searches but all the terms are very generic!

Currently, in the left hand nautilus (directory tree) pane, if i want to delete a folder i have to click on its parent then locate the child again in the right hand (folders) pane, and delete. The option to right-click the child in the tree in the left pane exists, but is greyed-out... any way to active this?
