Problem with Update Manager in Ubuntu 10.10

Hello Everybody,

As of a couple weeks ago I went to get ubuntu updates from the update manager and click "check" and I get an error saying Failed to Download repository Information. But thats not it... I can still connect to the Internet... I've tried changing what server it connects to and still no luck. I'm About 40 days over due of Updates...

How does the machine behave, if you boot it and run


sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get clean

?
