I use it to open and close tabs in my browser and in Nautilus, and to drag the view in several applications. It's pretty amazing how much you can do with your middle mouse button (= scroll wheel).

unless you mean actually pressing it in. i hardly use it for that. i press it to paste sometimes, but my mousewheel has left/right clicks on it too which act like left/right cursor, so i can end up messing up where im pasting. much better to use the trusty shift+insert.

My middle button is a wheel, I use it to scroll. one click in FF for the scroll icon, open links in another tab, and open yahoo email with one click on the yahoo mail notifier add icon in FF.

I have a Logitech MX518 that I have used heavily for 3 years now and it's still going strong. And when it breaks I'm getting a new one. I'm in love with the thing and since it's dirt cheap I can get a dedicated gaming mouse.
