I am using the (K, X)Ubuntu 10.04 alternate installation CD in expertmode. Although package selection is offered, I am not able to choose which packages get installed during the installation process. Best regards, owiknowi

This script lets you choose which packages you want.

Thanks mörgæs for your very quick reply! I will give it a try today. So the option to select and install packages given as an option with a fresh (expert)install of (K, X)Ubuntu, simply won't do the trick? Best regards, owiknowi (know more questions then there are answers...)

The question remains the same:
Installing from an alternate CD in Expert mode one of the required steps is:
Select and install software
This is after the installation of the Base system.
But there is nothing for me to select! Just part of the default script?
The same option is available and working during the installation process of for example Scientific Linux.
P.S. mörgæs: I still have to try the script from Andy Duffell as suggested by you.
