Hi,
after hours of formating C and windows XP and after hours of installing Ubuntu,
I can see the desktop backround image, the grey bar on the top of the screen with the sound icon and the ON/OFF button and then my laptop becames unresponsive.
Nothing moves, cant here anything... (the cd loading).
So, If I restart the pc pressing ESC so I can change the boot order and have it boot from the Hard drive, I get this message:
"Operating System not Found"
Any ideas?
I've tryed to install Ubuntu about 5 times now and both 5 times it goes up to the same point and then stops.

Welcome to Ubuntu :-)

Which version of Ubuntu are you trying to install?

Did you check the integrity of the image?

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Did you check the disc for defects?

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDBootOptions

What are your hardware specs?

At which point does the installation hang?

Hi and thanks for the quick response..!!!
I'm using the latest version (I guess) 10? I download it from the website, so it should be the latest...
The laptop was working perfect, with the wirelless and everything, internet... the only problem, it was a little slow. It has only 64mb ram (I think).
I can now see a circle (loading) that replaced the mouse pointer and I click on the soud icon, I can see the the volume and Sound preferences..
but its now stuck again...
Should I look for an older vesion of Ubuntu? is it lighter? Is this one too much for this old Pressario 2100?

It has only 64mb ram (I think).

That really is too low for any OS these days.

You might be interested in looking at some other lighter Linux distros but definitely not Ubuntu, nor any Ubuntu derivative.

This might help somewhat.
